Opus 4.7 evaluated against NMR spectroscopy, the primary analytical task in chemistry: reading spectra to infer molecular structure. The model matches, and on some tasks beats, dedicated NMR software. Evaluation led by Anthropic chemist David Kamber. Scope is intentionally narrow: one specific lab workflow, not a general chemistry credential.

Adds fallbackModel setting to configure up to three fallback models when the primary is overloaded or unavailable. Also: glob pattern support in deny rules, hardened cross-session messaging, improved thinking token handling.
